Our primary aim, ‘to preserve and enhance your natural dentition and oral health’, communicates everything we do.
Firstly, we try to identify the cause of any decay so you can step up your dental care routine at home and avoid similar damage to your other teeth in the future. We may also arrange an appointment with one of our Oral Health Educators to enhance your care programme. We will then consider a solution to repair the damage to your teeth with ‘minimal intervention’ – our longstanding restorative ethos.
Advanced dentistry encompasses all areas of your dental care from simple advice and guidance to the placement of aesthetic crowns, bridges or veneers. Our three dedicated dental surgeons will tailor treatment to your individual needs, selecting the most appropriate material and carefully guiding you through the process so you receive the very best in restorative care.
Preventive resin sealants
We are very precise in the way we use our preventive resin sealants. After identifying the damage, we will carefully remove the affected areas using magnification. Following this, the tooth surface is deep cleaned with a powder, then a protective resin is bonded to your tooth to provide a permanent sealant that should protect it for a lifetime!
Composite resin restorations
Our range of resins allows us to colour match and rebuild worn or damaged teeth, and replace old amalgam fillings with tooth coloured restorations. A new generation of bonding agents and a range of aesthetic composites allow us to mimic your natural teeth very closely (if not perfectly!).
We have recently undertaken advanced training to enhance our skills in the most up-to-date resin restorative techniques. Please ask us about the possible benefits for you.
Minimal intervention resin repair
Small areas of damage can now be successfully repaired with techniques using advanced resin materials, giving your teeth lasting strength and colour.
Minimal intervention veneer restorations
Porcelain or resin veneers can be used in very small sections to rebuild the appearance and structure of your teeth. We spend additional time restoring your teeth under magnification and can achieve remarkable results.
Aesthetic crowns, inlays and bridgework
For the restoration of larger areas of damage, we use Zirconia, composite and glass-based materials to regain the natural shape and colour of your tooth. We work with highly skilled dental technicians who fabricate these restorations, which are subsequently bonded to your tooth. Our Chromoscopic sensor enables us to accurately transfer the colour of your natural teeth to the technicians so they can reproduce the aesthetics of your teeth.
Bridges can be used to replace one or more missing teeth and are used to span a space or gap, using the surrounding teeth as support. This can be a very successful solution when adjacent teeth allow for the use of this technique.
Root canal therapy (endodontics)
Endodontic care involves removing infected tissue from within the tooth and is known as ‘root canal therapy’. The aim of this treatment is to preserve a tooth that may otherwise have been extracted and our careful use of dental anaesthesia enables us to deliver this procedure with minimal discomfort.
Partial and full dentures, with special magnetic attachment stabilisation
If you need new dentures, we will work with you to achieve the smile you want. Natural looking dentures are created in our advanced dental laboratory using only the highest quality materials.
Implant-stabilised dentures and bridgework
Dental implants can significantly improve the stability of dentures and, with over 25 years’ experience of using magnets, we can make significant improvements to your speech and chewing ability.
These advanced techniques require considerable planning but please ask our Treatment Co-ordinators to show you examples of our dental implant successes and to advise you if this is a suitable option.
Many of our patients are keen to soften minor lines and wrinkles around the eyes, forehead and lips that may have developed over time.
We can help you achieve smoother, younger looking skin with our professionally delivered anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers.
If you are interested in either of these options, or wish to know more about these rejuvenating treatments, then please give us a call on 0131 445 1505 and arrange a FREE consultation with our Treatment Co-ordinator who will explain all the options and let you know exactly what can be achieved.
